FALLing For Self Care – A Self Care Challenge
September is National Self Care Month, so of course, we had to have a fall self care challenge before the month ends. Since today is the first day of fall, I thought it would be perfect to make this challenge fall-themed. You’ll see this throughout the week through photos, blog titles, and more. What Is Self Care?
There are many ways to describe what self-care is. The simplest way that I know to describe it is this:
Self-care is the act of taking care of yourself.
There is a lot of ground to cover there. That is why I created this week-long challenge. Before we get into specifics I want you to close your eyes and picture what you think self care is. Take a second to do that now. I’ll wait right here.
Do you have the image in your head?
I’m going to take a guess and say that most of you pictured a bubble bath or maybe painting your nails? Yes those activities have a place in the self care world, but it’s much more than that. Self care doesn’t have to cost anything. We will talk more on that in tomorrow’s post.
There are different areas of self care that you will notice when looking at a list of self care activities. In fact I made a list for you. You can find it at the end of this post. You’ll see online that there are mostly five or eight areas of self care. I got these from this Modern Therapy article.See how many self care activities you can classify in the picture below.
What is this Fall Self Care Challenge?
I’m so excited to officially kick off this challenge! Here is what you can expect each day in this challenge:
- A new blog post published every morning
- Activities to participate in on Instagram
- A fall self-care bingo game to complete throughout the week
You’ll want to keep track of the bingo board. You can print it out or screenshot it. Each bingo you complete enters you into the PSL (pumpkin spice latte) giveaway. If you complete the whole bingo card you’ll receive a bonus entry. That’s right, I want to treat you to coffee on me if your name gets chosen as the winner! Starbucks and Instagram have no affiliation with this giveaway. Here is how to be entered into the giveaway:
- Subscribe to the blog (I promise there will be no spam sent your way)
- Tag me (@buddingjoy_blog) on Instagram when you’ve got a bingo.
- On the last day of the challenge fill out the form that will be in the conclusion blog post. I’ll gather all of the entries and put them in a wheel generator to determine the winner.
The winner of the Starbucks e-gift card will be announced Monday at 8am est on Instagram Stories.
