Journey To Fit: The 75 Soft
If you’ve been a longtime reader, you may notice a series name change. Journey To 150 is no more, instead this series will now be called Journey To Fit. I decided not to place my sights on a specific number, but more like a feeling. While my ultimate goal weight is still around 150, it’s no longer my focus. I believe this is a healthier way to view my journey. With that in mind, let’s get to today’s topic, The 75 Soft.
What Is The 75 Soft
The 75 Soft comes from a stricter version of the program called the 75 Hard. It’s known as a mental toughness challenge that is made up of a few rules that you have to follow each day, for 75 days. If you mess up you have to start again. I’m not quite up for that strict of a program, which is where the 75 Soft comes in. When I found out about that version, I got excited. It’s the same few rules, just a little more lenient. I also changed up one of them to better challenge myself. I’ve tried starting this program before but I was never able to get fully started before I gave up. I’m hoping this is the time I can really commit! Here are the rules, and my plan for these next 75 days.
Eat Well
This will most likely be the hardest one for me, your girl likes junk food and is too lazy to cook lol. I’m ready to give it my full attention though. My biggest goal here is to eat a fruit or veggie with each meal. I feel like that should balance out my eating pretty well. I’ll also be trying to track my meals to make sure I’m eating balanced meals each day.
Only Drink Eat Take Out/Go Out To Eat On Social Occasions
The original rule is to only drink on social occasions. Since I don’t really drink that much I wanted to challenge myself in a different way. Which is where the no eating out came into the picture. I’m big on DoorDashing and “grabbing something to eat real quick.” This will not only save me money, but help me on my health journey as well.
Train 45 Minutes A Day, Taking One Day Off Per Week For Active Recovery
It’s time to get back to working out. I plan on doing a mix of strength, dancing, and walking throughout the week. A mini goal I have here is to complete a fitness challenge at some point during the 75 days as well.
Drink One Gallon 80 Ounces Of Water Per Day
While the original goal is to drink a gallon of water each day, I’m not there yet. I think starting at 80 ounces is a great compromise, with the goal to get to a gallon by the end of the challenge. To make this easy I have water reminders set up on my phone, and I plan on drinking a bottle of water with every meal and snack.
Read 10 Pages Of Any Book Every Day
This part of the challenge will be easy for me. I love to read and do so daily already. For this challenge specifically though they want you to focus on reading personal development books, which is fine by me. I’m hoping to have read three personal development books by the end of the challenge.
Extras I Want To Incorporate
Some of these things are part of the original challenge and some are things that I personally wanted to do.
Take Pictures: Specifically before and after pictures, however I might do a midpoint photo day too.
Journal Daily: I plan to document my progress both in print and digitally through video. This will hopefully keep me accountable and give me something to look back on.
Check In Weekly: I think this will be important to keep me on track throughout all 75 days. I’ll take a look at what is going well, what could be better, and what I should focus on in the week ahead.
Have you ever done the 75 Hard or 75 Soft? Let me know in the comments.
