The Greatest Workout I’ve Ever Done

The Fitness Marshall

There are workouts that you dread doing, then there are workouts you wish you could do over and over again. The experience I’m talking about today definitely falls in to the latter category, if you couldn’t tell by the tittle.  If you remember my Finding Joy In Dancing post, you’ll know that I am a fan of dance fitness, especially The Fitness Marshall. On April  12th I went to my first, and definitely not last, Fitness Marshall Cardio Dance Concert.

In case you aren’t familiar with what I’m talking about let me introduce you to one of the best things that has happened to me. The Fitness Marshall is a dance fitness YouTube channel. They also have their own YouTube membership where you can dance with them in weekly livestreams if you choose the Elite membership. Caleb Marshall is the creator of the channel and brings fun chorography each week along with the Backup Booties Haley Jordan, Allison Florea and manager Cameron Moody. They also travel around the U.S. from time to time to perform shows. As I am writing this they are in the middle of their Sweat Yourself Sexy 2019 tour, which is what I am writing about today.

The Sweat Yourself Sexy Tour experience

That night was everything I thought it would be and more! I felt so many emotions that day. Getting there was rough, at some points I thought I was going to miss the meet and greet. Then I thought I wasn’t going to make it at all. I was nervous and upset. Thankfully I made it just in time. It all became real when I walked through the doors and saw Cameron handing out the wristbands. I didn’t think I could have been more excited than I was. There I was, about to walk into what I was sure was going to be a night I wouldn’t forget.

As I was standing in line at the meet and greet I couldn’t believe I was here. I have been dancing to the videos on The Fitness Marshall channel for over two years now. I never would have thought I would be able to make it to one of their shows, let alone be able to meet them in person. The fact that I was here was amazing. I was almost in tears from the excitement of it all.  I couldn’t wait to meet and dance with The Fitness Marshall crew.

The show started soon after the meet and greet and I was ready to dance my heart out. The energy in the room was amazing but once I started dancing everything faded away and it felt like I was the only one in the room dancing with them. I was having the time of my life. It didn’t feel like I was working out because I was having a blast, but I definitely put the sweat in Sweat Yourself Sexy, so I know I burned some major calories. They performed some of my favorite routines, like Throw A Fit, 7 Rings and Monster, and we did their newest routine, that wasn’t even out at the time, Sally Walker. It truly was a special night for me.

How The Fitness Marshall Has Impacted My Life

There are two big reasons that I love dancing with The Fitness Marshall crew. If you have been reading my blog, then you know two of the topics I talk about are Weight Loss and Depression. Working out to their videos have helped me with both my weight loss journey and my battle with depression. Not only do they get me sweating, but on the bad days I can turn to my favorite dances and my mood starts to change. I’m so grateful that I found The Fitness Marshall channel on YouTube and I am also a Booty Army member, so I can dance to the livestreams they do every week.  If you love dancing, you should check out their channel.

I know that some people don’t enjoy dance fitness, if that is you I want you to know that you can still gain something from this post. If you take away nothing else I hope my experience has shown you how important it is to find a workout you enjoy. Whether it’s dancing, running, CrossFit, etc., you are more likely to motivate yourself if you enjoy your workout. Working out can also help your mood as well. So today I challenge you to find out what your favorite form of working out is. If you aren’t sure try a few different things until you find something. It’s even better if you can find an event to go to or a group of friends who shares the same passion for it.

I’d love to know what your favorite form of working out is. Let me know in the comments below.
