4 Ways To Create a Virtual Christmas
This year Christmas is going to look different. That doesn’t mean we can’t still enjoy the holiday season. Quarantine can’t stop our Christmas cheer! While it would be nice to be physically surrounded by your family and friends this time of year, there are ways to make memories virtually as well. Here are a few ways you can have a Virtual Christmas
Host A Virtual Christmas Party
If the party can’t come to you, or you can’t go to the party, bring the party to everyone. The first thing you are going to want to do is decide on a format. Is this going to be a Facebook event, live over on Zoom or Messenger? Figure out what works best for everyone.
Once you’ve got the format it’s time to plan what you want to do. Is it just going to be a catch-up session or are you going to plan some fun Christmas activities? One idea is to send your gifts by mail before the party and have everyone open them together at the party. Other ideas can be found in some of the other activities below.
Read A Christmas Book Together
Who doesn’t love a good book club? Decide on a Christmas book to read throughout the month and then meet up virtually to discuss it. If you need some ideas of books to read check out this list .
Get Festive With Your Background
Decorating is one of my favorite parts about planning a party. The fun isn’t going to stop, virtual or not. Decorate the wall you’ll be sitting in front of is one idea. If you are hosting, or joining, a virtual Christmas party on Zoom, here is a festive background you can download.
Bake A Recipe Together
There are a few ways you can go about this. You can either set up a time to bake over Zoom, FaceTime, etc., that is more freestyle and just hanging out. Another option, if you like being competitive, is to let out your inner Food Network star and make it a competition. Who can make the most elaborate Gingerbread house, who has the best cookie recipe, etc.. I’m sure you can come up with something your virtual guests will love.
There are my ideas for taking the Christmas fun virtual. Don’’t let the scary, uncertain world we are living in right now prevent you from making memories with your friends. It takes a little more thinking and coordinating, but in my opinion, it’s worth it. Will you be hosting a virtual Christmas party this year? Let me know in the comments.
