5 Reasons Why I Love Christmas
I’ve pointed out that Christmas is the most wonderful time of year, at least to me. It’s only fair that I tell you why I love Christmas so much. On today’s Blogmas post I’m sharing five reasons why I love Christmas
Christmas Lights
There is something about Christmas lights that fills my heart with joy. I love driving down the road and seeing all the houses decked out with pretty lights. I especially love watching these Christmas lights set to music every year. I don’t know how people manage to go all out like this, but I’m glad they do.
Baking All The Things
My favorite part of baking during Christmas isn’t necessarily the tasty treats, but the wonderful smell they bring. I love the smell of gingerbread, peppermint, and freshly baked cookies. This year I’m going to try to make healthier versions of my favorite Christmas baked goods. I’ve already made the Peanut Butter Reindeer Print Cookies from the Love Sweat Fitness Holiday Survival Guide. They are amazing in case you were wondering. I’ll be doing a Healthy Eats: Christmas edition in a few days to share more of my favorites, so keep an eye out for that.
Showing Loved Ones How Much I Love Them
I know Christmas isn’t all about the gifts, but I do enjoy thinking of meaningful gifts for my loved ones. It makes me happy to make others happy. I determine what to get by listening and picking up on things throughout the year as I’m spending time with loved ones. If I have an idea to make something meaningful there is usually an 85% chance that I do that as well. What has been the most meaningful gift you have given?
Christmas Movies
I can watch Christmas movies on repeat, yes even the cheesy Hallmark movies with predictable endings. The best nights during this time of year are spent cuddled up with a blanket, hot chocolate in my hand, and a Christmas movie marathon, thank you DVR. I haven’t done that yet this year and it is long overdue, at least in my opinion. What is your favorite Christmas movie?
The Reason For The Season
Last, but definitely not least, I love Christmas time for what it represents, the birth of Jesus. It’s easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle that comes this time of year. Each year I stay grounded by remembering why we celebrate Christmas in the first place. This also helps when I’m not feeling the holiday cheer during the season. This year I’m going a little deeper by reading Because of Bethlehem by Max Lucado as well as an Advent devotional.
As you can tell there are a lot of reasons why I love this season. Now I want to know yours! Tell me your favorite part of Christmas in the comments below.
