Words That Shape Me: Books That Have Shaped My Morning Routine (plus a bonus resource)

July 13, 2019KellyC123

Welcome to the Words That Shape Me series! In this series I’ll be posting my thoughts and what I’ve learned about each book. The books I review will be ones that have had a huge impact on my life and books that I believe can change your life as well.

Morning Routine books

We are currently wrapping up week 1 of the Morning Routine Breakdown Series. I didn’t just come up with my morning routine overnight. It’s taken a while to get it the way I have it now and it will most likely change again in the future as I change. In this special Words That Shape Me post I want to share my favorite morning routine books that have helped me shape my own. If you are new to this subject I would recommend checking out these resources to learn more

The 5 Second Rule by Mel Robbins

This is probably the best book I’ve ever read, well technically I listened to it. I bought this book on audible and I believe listening to it made it much more powerful and impactful for me.

The basis of this book is teaching you to take action by using one simple tool. In the book Mel Robbins shares her personal story, stories of others and the science behind the rule. In this book I learned about what happens in your brain when you hit the snooze button and how it impacts your whole day. Waking up is the first step to a great morning routine so it helps if you wakeup feeling refreshed and not groggy.

If you want to learn more I recommend you read The 5 Second Rule and put this tool into practice in your own life.

The Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod

Another great book on my list of morning routine books is The Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod. This book taught me how important your morning routine can be in creating a successful life you love. The author also breaks down the components that make a solid morning routine.

If you aren’t sure why a morning routine is important or how to go about making one, then this is a book you’ll want to check out.

“Waking up early, especially when done with purpose, always starts you off feeling empowered for your day.”

Hal Elrod

BONUS Resource: Amy Landino Vlogs

I know that The Words That Shape Me series usually features books I love, but this is a special case. Amy Landino does have a books, Vlog Like A Boss and Good Morning Good Life, that are on my reading list, but today I’m talking about her Amy TV vlogs.

I discovered her vlogs on YouTube a little under a year ago and I’ve been hooked ever since. Morning Routines are a big topic on her channel. In fact, I’ve gotten some of my morning routine tasks from this channel. She also talks a lot about productivity and creating a life you love. Her videos aren’t too short, or too long, and filled with excellent tips you can apply to your own life.

If any of that interests you, check out her channel. She also has a podcast if you want to dive deeper in those topics.

These are the morning routine books, and a bonus resource, that have shaped my routine the most. I want to hear from you now. If you currently have a morning routine where did you first hear about it and how did you develop your own? What are your favorite morning routine books?
